First death is appointed; then judgment is appointed.

Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” One thing is for certain; death is assured for us all. God promised Adam that if he ate of the forbidden fruit “…thou shalt surely die.” Gen. 2:17. Not just one death; but two deaths. Adam would die spiritually and physically and both were promised. This is why God promised us all that “…it is appointed unto men once to die…” this is the physical death. Spiritual death comes to us when we are conceived, because we are “…shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” Psalms 51:5 However here in Hebrews 9:27 God is promising that every single person will see physical death and this death is because of sin. Not only are we promised of God to die but God has also appointed that death. I believe that God has appointed the very day and down to the very second. I know that when people see death it is hard to believe that God ordained an early death such as a child, a young person, or etc. but it is also hard to believe that God controls many other things such as natural disasters and such, but there is nothing that God does not have total control over. “Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;” Job 14:5 For those who doubt this you must consider that if there is something that God does not have total control over then that thing is out of His reach and could change His ordained will. It would simply damage the whole “omni” of God; or the whole “all and in all” that He is. The Psalmist asks “What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave?” Selah. Psalms 89:48 Once Physical death has come; then the judgment. This judgment is appointed just as death is and that assures it’s certainly. Most people don’t think about their judgment day; but all will stand before the Lord Jesus Christ and receive our judgments. The saved will be judged at His coming in the clouds and the lost at the end of all things at the Great White Throne. For us who are saved it will be at His return and while most don’t think about that day it will certainly be a good day for some and a not so good day for others. The question is; what will your judgment day be like. We will not be judged for our sins, which will be the lost judgment at the Great White Throne. We as believers in Jesus Christ will be judged by those things in the word of God. Like, did you join a church and what was your status in that church? How did you treat other believers, and did you seek and believe biblical truth, and etc, etc, and etc. Most Christians never think about their judgment day because they are never taught too. But folk’s, judgment day is just as assured as death; how will your day before the Lord Jesus Christ be? 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” However bad it may be for some at judgment day those who know Christ Jesus as their Saviour; all tears shall be whipped away and we shall ever be with our Lord who died for us. Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
