“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6 – 7
If
you are a Christian then you are a child of the King of all kings, and the Lord
of all lords. Jesus said, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they
shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (29)
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to
pluck them out of my Father's hand.” John 10:28 – 29 Please just give
that some thought! No one, no one at all can do anything to us in any way
unless God allows it, and if God allows it, it cannot be stopped. Our Heavenly
Father is over all and controls all, only He can control our everyday
happenings in life. Paul writes to this Philippian church “Be careful for
nothing; but in every thing…” I have read where this church and people were
a very worrisome people, but aren’t we all like that, yes, we are. My mother
was one of the most worrisome people I ever knew that woman worried about every
child she had until she went to be with the Lord. But God said we are not to
worry, and as His children we have nothing to worry about. To be careful for
nothing means - to be anxious about or to take thought not in even one thing or
person – meaning, we are to never fear anything but God. God said "Go
to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and
continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: (14) Whereas ye know
not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a
vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."
James 4:13 – 14 We must remember that our life is in God’s hands, He has set
our bounds, therefore everything is in God’s ordained and predestined will,
nothing will happen differently. God went on to say, “For that ye ought to
say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.” James 4:15
Instead of thinking about something, we ought to be to praying about it,
because the answer is not within us until God reveals it to us. Job wrote, “(For
we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a
shadow:)” Job 8:9 Bildad kept telling Job he needed to repent, Bildad spoke
to Job as though he knew what God was doing, he thought Job had sinned and was
being punished by God, but he was wrong. Folks, our life is God’s to give, it
is not in our hands, nor is our destiny is not in our hands. Our life, the
good, bad, pretty, and the ugly, is all the ordained will of God. Look, God
allowed Satan to bring ugliness to Jobs life because God was proving to Satan
how strong Job was, or how strong God had made Job. We are nothing without the
power of God, not only in somethings, but in every detail of our life. We can
only do as God allows and will accomplish as God gives grace. God went on to
say, “…but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known unto God.” All we must do is to ask
God because it is He who gives us our understanding, He gives wisdom and
knowledge, only God knows. We sometimes think we know this or that only
to find out we don’t know anything; we don’t know God’s will until God reveals
it. If we have a need then ask of God because God is the only one to help,
remember this, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they
think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. (8) Be not ye
therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need
of, before ye ask him.” Matthew
6:7 - 8 Folks, do not worry about things, just
trust in God, He is our Father and He greatly cares for us. He has promised to
supply all our needs as He chooses. His choices may not be our choices but
believe me, God knows our every need in life. He will never leave us on our
own, He will always and in everything be controlling the situations of life. It
doesn’t matter what life brings we are not alone, the decisions and choices are
not ours, ask God He has the answer. Even if it leads to our death, it is God’s
purpose in our life. So beloved, be careful in nothing, if God leads you into
it, He will get you through it. God never leaves us on our own, no matter what.
God promised Joshua these words, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and
of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy
God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9 We, His children have that same promise!
